Mile End Chronicles
As an homage to its people and places, Mile End Chronicles creates a photographic journey through the streets of one of Montreal’s most storied neighbourhoods. Through his pictures, photographer and filmmaker Jorge Camarotti captures the essence of the place he has seen evolve for over 10 years, a place that welcomed him when he first arrived to the province of Quebec.
In its substance and form, this book seeks to represent the diversity found in the Mile End and its residents. Texts presented in both French and English highlight the duality of a predominantly bilingual city, while the book’s visual language tells a tale of artfulness and eccentricity.
